This multidisciplinary approach, which first emerged in academia, is now rapidly being adopted by the private sector, enhancing our lives and pioneering groundbreaking solutions to longstanding challenges.
Until recently, fields such as climate tech, biotech, and energy tech, among many others, saw remarkable advancements—each within its domain.
However, a new wave of companies is leading the industry toward a truly multidisciplinary future, where innovation arises from the seamless integration of these diverse fields.
The Israeli Innovation Authority found BugEra as a Prime example of this transformation.
At BugEra, we harness state-of-the-art genetic technologies to optimize the cultivation of Black Soldier Flies (BSF) on diverse organic waste streams.
Our solution correlates with multiple IIA Bio-Conversion (BC) applications.
We are enabling valuable bio-based energy solutions, advancing sustainable feed alternatives, pioneering novel biomanufacturing processes, and promoting a sustainable circular bioeconomy to tackle global environmental challenges. Moreover, as a significant partner and a genetic leader at the IIA-backed BSF Israel consortium, BugEra contributes to the local BSF industry, helping Israel overcome some of its feed security challenges and shifting it into a sustainable economy.
